About UWAHC

The University of WA Hockey Club (UWAHC) is one of the largest hockey clubs in Western Australia with over 400 members in men’s, women’s and junior teams. Along with being one of the largest clubs in WA it is one of the strongest clubs in competition, with a majority of the teams annually reaching finals. The recent decade has seen the UWAHC accomplish outstanding levels of success.

2008:

  • Winners Wizard League Women's Competition
  • Gold Medalists - Australian University Games Men’s Hockey Competition (5th consecutive year)

2007:

UWAHC is represented in every level of competition which includes the top Men’s and Women’s Division, the Men’s Wizard Cup and the Women’s Wizard League competition.

With this diverse representation, there is a team which will suit your ability and social needs. The Club is also referred to as ‘The Students’, as a large proportion of the members attend UWA and other Perth universities. Having this in mind, UWAHC club parties are second to none. There are numerous parties throughout the season including the Hockey renowned ‘Freshers Show’ to fire up the season to a crazy Madhatters show, Cocktail Evening, topping the year off with the Final dinner, a night out to be remembered.

The club is located at the University Sports Park, McGillivray Oval, McGillivray Road off Brockway Road, Shenton Park, behind Challenge Stadium. The fields are a 10 minutes drive from the UWA.

We have our own Austroturf (The Superturf) which was replaced in early 2007. This is to ensure UWAHC stays ahead of the rest, in both quality of facilities and hockey strength.

The clubrooms are top class and are adjacent to The Superturf. The clubrooms play host to dinners and many social functions. Within the clubrooms you’ll find The Blue Bar consisting of a 20m long bar, change rooms, offices and sitting area over looking the Superturf.
